BIG news!

May 29, 2013

No, I’m not pregnant.

And if you thought that you soooo don’t know me.

The big news is that I’m so excited but yet super scared to tell you guys that we are totally under contract on my cute little house!

I mean, is me putting it out there in writing for all 4 of you to read totally going to jinx it?

You know lots of things can go wrong after getting under contract. Trust me, I watch HGTV.

So anyways, I am super stressed about the upcoming inspections and just hoping that there is nothing super crazy or expensive that makes the buyers walk away.

Funny story about the buyers. There is this really old guy painting the house next door. I am not just saying that or being mean. He wears T-shirts about how he is a grandpa. And yes, I know you can be a grandpa before you even hit your 40s, but if that was the case, he’s probably a great-great-grandpa by now.

OK, so he’s pretty friendly with me since I see him every day and he kept telling me about this couple (which is actually the couple that ultimately ended up making an offer on the house). Particularly, the woman who he has told me is just “real purrrtttty…like a supermodel or something.” Interesting observation, don’t you think?

He asked me about them for 4 days in a row. I wonder if that’s why he’s taking FOREVER to paint the house next door, in hopes he gets to see her again. Maybe when they move in and ask for my neighbors’ recommendation for a painter they will give them the name of painter Grandpa and he will be lurking in their windows for weeks. I can only imagine. Lucky for them we just had all the outside trim painted. I maybe just saved her life.

Anyways, I don’t want to be too excited yet, but I am so anxious that I have acid eating holes in my intestines, so hopefully things will work out with everything on track!

Moving onnnnnn, several months, heck maybe even a year ago a new FroYo place went in on Habersham street. This is not something I would normally care about on my Paleo program since FroYo is not ON that program, unfortunately. However, when you are a little off the program then FroYo is OK. And seriously, the boy and I are getting a bit happy with that little Sweet Frog lately. Is it an excuse to soothe my acid-riddled belly? Maybe.

Rainbow sprinkles are my favorite!!!! Do you think they have gluten in them?

But let me tell you about this place. The FroYo actually tastes GOOD. Some FroYo tastes like weird stevia sweeteners, and others I swear I can actually taste the bacteria in the yogurt it is so yogurt-y. This is actually good freaking yogurt.

So what happens is I’m totally on the program ALL day. ALL day. I work out hard. Sometimes twice if I have to Wendler. And then the boy gets me every time when he asks if I want some FroYo. The answer to that question is always 100% yes. ALWAYS. I wonder why he’s trying to sabotage me?

I guess I won’t have to worry about the FroYo situation for too much longer though, since we will be moving out of the cute little house soon. In only a matter of weeks it will all be packed up and on its way to Tennessee. The scary part of that then shifts to finding a rental that will take 3 cats.

Trust me, it is not easy.

And I just don’t get it. My cats are not spilling their sippy cups on the carpet or scribbling on the walls like kids do.

I will never understand why it is OK to have kids in a rental and not cats. In my experience children are far more destructive. What do they think my cat that sleeps 20-22 hours a day is going to do to ruin every square inch of space?

I’m obviously super frustrated about it.

Also, I can’t decide if we should just suck it up and live in a quasi-dump to save tons of $$$ or spend the extra few hundred dollars a month for a nicer place (and location). If I had realized how hot the rental market was when we left Tennessee I would have NEVER sold the old house. The funny thing is, our odds for ending up back in the same subdivision are pretty high right now.

Oh, and yes I totally did get my tattoo! And it’s awesome. It is almost done healing – finally – it has been taking it’s sweet time to peel and heal. But it’s pretty much there.

While sitting I watched almost the entire first season of Duck Dynasty. It was a lot of work to try and not laugh very hard. It was such a good distraction for me that my artist said he was going to be recommending Duck Dynasty marathons to everyone coming in.

The funny thing about it is how much attention it gets.

For example. We were at Barberitos. Don’t judge me, I can cheat (see FroYo above). I am in line first and the tortilla guy comments on my tattoo. The beans and meat guy agrees and starts asking about the color holding, the fixings guy then starts with his compliments and comments on it too. Meanwhile, the boy is right next to me with his full sleeve getting no attention at all. The guys realize this and joke about how they ‘guess your tattoo is pretty cool too.’ It was hilarious.

I have had a lot of people ask me if I am going to get more work to fill it out into a sleeve and at this point I say NO WAY since I think that would detract from the awesomeness and striking nature of the piece. Plus I have OTHER plans on deck tattoo-wise, but for now those are TOP secret!

The finished piece! It's so cool because the train moves as I bend my arm. The placement is absolutely perfect and exactly what I had in mind.

For those curious about my tattoo artist, his name is Dean Denney and I am so happy with the work he did. Just so you know, he uses organic methods in coming up with his gluten-free designs which are all locally sourced with no GMO, MSG, or RBGH. Seriously! That’s what his card says, it’s legit. You can look him up on Instagram @deandenney to see all his awesome work (including my fab arm!)

  1. Wow your tattoo is so vivid! I love it! And fringes crossed on the house– can’t wait till you’re settled back in TN and we can plan a rock climbing trip!

    • Thanks, Tonya! Ryan is super psyched to go climbing again, too 🙂
